Violence
posted October 22, 2009 - 2:13pm
Houses buning all around--
Churches burned to the ground--
Faces showing the pains of growing up--
With no family to lean on.
Violence captured on TV screen--
Things that never should have been seen.< p>
Mothers raped little girls by their side.
Little boys made to watch mouths open wide.
This is a bit of an unusual style for me, but as they say sometimes a person needs to step out of the box. I just felt the need to write this one. I suspect this is what it is like for people living in some of those third world countries

Wow
This certainly is a dark and accurate portrayal of what may be happening right across our own borders in Mexico, or just down the street from us in some dark alley.
It is sad to know that there are monsters out there to act out on what you speak of in your poem.
This is profound, and very good, Johnny.
Step out of the box more often.
Warmest regards and best intentions,
Kate
Thanks Theresa!!
Thanks Theresa for commenting on Violence. It is much appreciated, and you are right it does happen right here in America as well.

Sad
but true – and it doesn't happen only in third world countries – it happens in our own back yards.

Thanks so much my friend!

WOW
Much food for thought here Johnny. More people need not be afraid to talk about this problem. It is indeed a saddening thing. Great article!
Yes, but!
Yes it did, but I wrote this quite sometime ago. I can't remember exactly when, but I posted on another site on 2/03/08. I just brought it from there this time.
Thanks for commenting.
