According to reliable sources, Virginia Governor Tim Kaine is very high on Senator Obama's VP short list. Campaign officials have stated that Obama's VP announcement is likely to happen in mid-August, shortly before the Democratic National Convention.

Senators Evan Bayh (Ind) and Joseph Biden (Del) are also considered serious contenders. But, Hillary Clinton, along with several others, is what they call a "long shot."
