Vishy Anand Retains World Chess Championship

Viswanathan Anand has retained the coveted World Chess Championship title today just minutes ago. Vishy as he is fondly called by the chess fans the world over is an Indian Chess Grand Master and the first Asian to win the title.

Today he beat Vladmir Kramnik another chess genius by 6.5-4.5 score. In the last game he drew the position in sicillian Najdorf variation with white pieces.

It may be recalled that Vishwanathan Anand had an unsurmountable advantage with a 4.5-1.5 score half way through in this world title match . Vladmir Kramnik has never before been defeated in a Championship Match . Even the All time great Garry Kasparov was out prepared by this classical chess genius to become the Brain Games chess world Champion way back in 2000. Kramnik lost his world championship to Viswanathan Anand in 2007.

Vladimir Kramnik tried to make a come back in the second half of the tournament by winning the 10th game with white pieces and gave some anxious moments to the champion vishy who is one of the fastest players of the world and had also been the world Rapid Chess Champion.

Hearty Congrats to Viswanathan Anand , The Undisputed World Chess Champion !!
