VP Dick Cheney Injures His Back Moving Boxes; Will Be in Wheelchair at Inauguration
posted January 20, 2009 - 12:01amAfter eight years of avoiding attacks by terrorists and other evil-doers, vice president Dick Cheney has apparently met an opponent that has laid him low: a cardboard box.
Cheney was moving boxes at his new home outside Washington, D.C. Monday night, his last day in office, and pulled a muscle in his back. On doctor's advice, the outgoing vice president will attend Tuesday's inauguration ceremony in a wheelchair.
So after eight years of maintaining secrecy about his whereabouts and shuttling between a variety of "undisclosed locations" in order to avoid attempts from enemies of the state to rub him out, the Veep has been taken out of commission by a humble cardboard box.
White House press secretary Dana Perino has said that Cheney is fine other than the muslce injury, and will be attending the Barack Obama/Joe Biden inauguration on Tuesday.
Will the offending cardboard box be named an enemy combatant and be sent to Guantanamo Bay? Will Cheney get revenge on the box with a blast from his shotgun?
With all the hoopla over the inauguration tomorrow, we may never get the whole story on the fate of this unfortunate box...
