Waiting and Watching
posted September 8, 2009 - 7:58pm
Here I stand,
Waiting and watching, guarding.
Waiting for the One.
The One who will ask.
Here I stand,
I watch the sun rise over the land.
I feel the fiery heat
Of the Sun God’s gaze.
Here I stand.
Here I stand,
I feel the sun setting, yet I remain,
Here I stand,
Waiting, watching, guarding.
Many pass, many ask,
Yet none are the One.
I dispense my knowledge,
As I can hiding behind my mask.
Here I stand.
Time passes, lives change,
Yet here I remain.
Waiting, watching guarding.
Here I stand,
Waiting for the One,
Willing this to end.
Yet, here I stand.
Waiting, watching, guarding.
I call to the Hunting God,
I call to the Warrior Goddess,
The wise Crone, the lively Maid,
Beseeching them to end my
Waiting,
Watching,
Guarding.
Here I stand,
I know my time grows short,
Yet I remain.
Word given, promise kept.
Here I stand.
Guarding still,
Knowing not what,
yet sure of my task.
Waiting, watching, guarding.
Waiting for the One,
Not knowing,
Yet sure in the end.
The end will come.
Then no longer will I be,
Waiting, watching.
Only having to guard the One,
The One who will come.
Alone in a crowd,
Here I stand,
Waiting,
Watching,
Guarding.
