One of the very basic premises taught in journalism 101 is the concept of objectivity. Point of view, grabbing facts, use of information and construction of an article should be balanced from start to finish. Basically, if you don't have the meat to let your reader see both sides of the story, it doesn't get published. This platform becomes the basis for "fair journalism."

Having been a journalism student at two different universities in this great country, I can say it was taught the same way at both large and small schools. Print the truth, back up your facts and you're good to go. Libel was something to be deathly afraid of. Always keep your integrity in your writing by printing a truthful article based on facts. Leave your opinion on the shelf. Opinions and editorials belong on the OP-Ed page. Period.

The mainstream media today has tossed all of these basic journalism premises right on the window in their pandering of Obama. The White House Communications Director, Anita Dunn, has openly admitted to working the media like puppets. And they fell for it, allowed it and are now openly reporting that they are shills for the current administration.

So why should this worry Americans? Let's go back to basic journalism. The media functions as an important "check and balance" for government. At least they used to. Earlier journalists took great pride in their watchdog status, compelled by truth alone. Today, that pride lies in whether or not they get the perk of being invited to the White House to rub elbows with the King and Queen.

"Very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn't absolutely control," said Dunn.

This disturbing, bragging statement was uttered by Dunn, referring to the Obama campaign's control over the media during the election process. We all saw it. We had Obama shoved down our throats on every network. They jockeyed to report how many times he blew his nose each day. Every minute detail was reported on. But how much of it was really relevant to the extremely important job as President?

Very little.

"We just put that out there and made them write what Plouffe had said as opposed to Plouffe doing an interview with a reporter. So it was very much we controlled it as opposed to the press controlled it," Dunn said.

More proof of the grinding of the media under the Obama Administration's thumb. This essentially means that the mainstream media allowed another to dictate their reporting, their objectivity...astonishing. What's even more stunning is that the majority of these networks and media outlets still support and regurgitate exactly what the Obama Administration wants them to every single day.

How in the world can we have an admission of manipulation without recourse?

Fox News has become Dunn's target, considered as an "arm of the Republican Party." I'm sitting here wondering how she can point a finger at Fox News when she basically browbeated every other news outlet into being an "arm of the Democratic Party."

What am I missing here?

I'll also point out that this woman is paid by the taxpayers to do her job. She isn't paid to wage war on private companies who happen to disagree with the policies of the Administration she works for. Dunn clearly has taken her bloody agenda one step too far.

Again, I wonder why a smart man like Obama continues to surround himself with big-mouthed braggarts.
