WalMart Rolling Back the Cost of Cell Phone Service!

Wal-Mart is helping to rollback the cost of cell service. The giant retailer has partnered with Straight Talk a division of American Movil to offer unlimited no-contract pre-paid phone service for $45 a month. The $45 offer includes unlimited text, unlimited calls, and unlimited data. For $30 a month the service offers 1000 minutes, 1000 text messages and 30MB of data. The service is CDMA based and located on the Verizon Wireless CDMA network. The cell phones offered are priced from $29.99 to $99.99. This is a great deal, and I will probably switch when my contract is up  later this year.

Thanks for the comments! Yeah

Thanks for the comments! Yeah the $30 a month price tag is more than just the data plans for Blackberries and other data centric cell phones. I am impressed with the low price tag. My contract is up in December and I am going to take a long look at these phones and plans.

 Yeah, I agree with you.

Yeah, I agree with you.  These Straight Talk plans are very good.

To recap the points you bring up--these all fit into what I would be looking for in a phone.

$30 is cheap

Verizon has a great network

1,000 minutes and 1,000 text is ample time and text for me.

30 mb of web browsing is probably enough--I don't generally browse via my phone too much.

Cheap Wal-Mart prepaid plans
