There are always a lot of rumors that surface whenever Apple is going to come out with a new product or marketing scheme. The most recent rumor was that Walmart was going to start selling a $99 iPhone. $99 would be awesome for an iPhone right?? But if you know, or have seen, how Apple runs their company this is pretty out of character. They usually stick to their prices and rarely have any sales. Especially a drop as low as $99.

So today Walmart started selling the iPhone. Not for the $99 that everyone hoped for but $197 / $297 respectively. I guess Apple's strategy is to make the iPhones available to the people that don't shop at Best Buy, AT&T or the Apple store.

What I don't understand about this move is why Apple waited until after the Christmas rush to place the iPhone in Walmart. Why wait until after? Either way Wally now has the iPhone!!
