Walnuts Slow the Growth of Breast Cancer Tumors: Results of the Latest Study By the American Institute for Cancer Research
The results of the latest study presented by the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) shows that the addition of two servings of walnuts (2 ounces or about 28 walnut halves) to your daily diet may slow the growth of breast cancer tumors.
The study conducted on mice infected with breast cancer showed that the mice fed the equivalent of two human servings of walnuts a day, showed only half of the amount of growth of tumors than mice who were not fed walnuts.
A delicious and nutritious addition to any diet, walnuts provide the body with essential omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E, and other antioxidants. Walnuts are also important to improving your cardiovascular health and improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to potentially harmful (LDL) cholesterol in your body. The health benefits of walnuts are plentiful.
