News Anchor Walter Cronkite Dies at 92

Walter Cronkite, the legendary news anchor and broadcaster has died at the age of 92 after a long illness. Cronkite passed away at his New York home on Friday, July 17, 2009, with his family at his bedside. Cronkite was anchor of the evening news for American TV network CBS from 1962 to 1981, reporting on major events such as the moon landing, the infamous Watergate scandal during Richard Nixon’s White House administration, and the assassination of former U.S. President John F.
