Wanted: Movie Extras, Actors, Models!

I've been receiving emails over the past few weeks explaining the dire need for movie extras, actors, and models. Apparently it's possible to make "hundreds of dollars a day" in these fields. Yippee! Always curious, although infinitely cynical, I clicked on the link in the email to invesitgate. I was immediately asked to fill in my zip code. Ok, I guess that's ok, I thought. Low and behold, I was informed that there was a plethora of movie extra jobs in my area.

I live in a town of less than 20,000, in a fairly rural area of central Illinois. There's aren't too many major metropolises with 75 miles of my little burg. Honestly, I had no idea so much filming was going on in my area. Mind you, in the past I have heard of people making a living as movie extras. But I assumed it would require quite a bit of traveling.

Hell, maybe I'm just misinformed. could it be they're filming the next Stephen Spielberg blockbuster just up the road, and I just haven't head about it? I do sometimes tend to get lost in my own little world for days on end and become oblivious to what's going on around me. Maybe I better check the local newspaper.

Although it appeared that signing up for the service is free, I rather suspect that there is some charge for obtaining information and contacts. Boy, do I have healthy grasp of the obvious or what?
