Was the devil a creation of God?
Was the devil a creation of God?
Since God exists independently of creation and has created all things and has a reason for all of existence, it is true that the "Devil" is a creation of God. As it is written, the concept of Lucifer or Satan was an angel who "fell from grace" out of heaven and was cast out to do the lesser works ordained by God in the realms below the heavens. Along with a certain elect of Lucifer's followers, the story follows that they exist in certain realms and perform such acts only in accordance with God's will, whatever that may be, it cannot be understood or explained, only accepted as a highly probable likelihood since the revelation of such an entity stems from the chronicles of the chosen ones and the revelation from the messengers of the Most High God.

Long-Story-Short: Of Course! I Don't Care!~And God's Name Was Ey
... short for '`Ey You!'
God and all that stuff was really a creation of man; man was TRULY a creation of God, yeah ... but not 'really' ...
The story is that Lucifer was the Archangel, decided to take some of God's glory for himself, got caught and was thus-relieved of the first title and -left to accept the title of Satan.
The mythology around that story--the idea that 'angels' are somehow any different from 'demons' and that they are both anywhere outside the human mind--'makes me sick' (same root as 'empathy'), because it subconsciously trains people in blame-tossing ... "I blame Jeebus, so I'm furgivuhn; I blame the Daveuhl, so Jeebus whips his hiney goooood!" barf

The Albatross
I remember (back in my church-going days) that much of what we "know" about Lucifer and his being kicked out of Heaven comes not from the Bible, but from a play called "The Albatross" that was more of an "artist's rendering" of what did happen (allegedly).
I do believe that there are strong dark entities in existence that exist to harm mankind, but I don't necessarily believe in any particular version of them.

God* created Satan.
Humans created God.
Humans created Satan.
So in essence, humans are to blame for the works of "Satan."
*(God, for the purposes of this comment, is the Abrahamic deity who created the universe and everything in it.)

@jdubhub-my.m--They're Dark because No One Shines Them Any Light
One 'feels a presence ~could be~ in the darkness,' and fears to shine`r light there because the light might 'wake something up.'
Finally daring to shine one's light there, one finds either that 'the something' is someone who has a reason for being there or that 'the something' was something`r own imagination put there.

Out of my knowledge base, but
I have heard the story of how Satan is a fallen angel and all that, but for some reason, I want to equate Satan with the chicken or the egg quandry.
Which came first, the creation of man or the casting of the archangel to Hell?
Either way, it seems like God, in his infinite wisdom, set out to test man. Why would God test man? Man was created in his own image and therefore He should have known Man would be tempted or not tempted. Was he planning on creating such havoc as we have today so that he could come and save the day and bask in the glory of savior of his own creation of turmoil? So much for God having Faith in us!
Did God create Hell? The Bible said he created the Heavens and Earth (I think). Who created Hell?
Who created angels? If God created all things, does that mean he created angels and oops, he created a naughty one by mistake and had to clean-up his mistake by casting him to a new place, called Hell?
Or is all this Heaven and Hell stuff made up by mere mortals to instill fear in others for, oh I don't know, power and personal gain?
Just a few questions...
I am a controversy.

Good questions, MJ. Let me take a shot at "answering" them.
"Was he planning on creating such havoc as we have today so that he could come and save the day and bask in the glory of savior of his own creation of turmoil?"
If that was his plan, then it would appear that God is quite narcissistic. Either that, or he is too caught up in self-adulation - since it would be hard to get it from his peers (which apparently don't exist).
"If God created all things, does that mean he created angels and oops, he created a naughty one by mistake and had to clean-up his mistake by casting him to a new place, called Hell?"
If this is true, then God certainly is not omniscient and his omnipotence could be seriously called into question. It would make God the not-so-perfect entity we assume God to be.
"Or is all this Heaven and Hell stuff made up by mere mortals to instill fear in others for, oh I don't know, power and personal gain?"
That is certainly true of the institutionalized religions. In my opinion - which is better than everyone else's - all religions and religious beliefs are made up by mere mortals.

@MJ Dakota--Christianity: Serving Satan 24/7
According to Gnostic belief (*not to be confused with* the Gnostic Gospel), God did not "create" anything but "emitted" everything; some of God's emissions figured out that they could work with other emissions, emit a little bit themselves and prosper from those emissions. (As you prosper from your emissions, so you get "Closer (to God).")
As far as 'which one existed first,' I don't care. I just know.
Descending into mythos lol: Man was not tempted; Woman was tempted and fell to temptation, and Man sacrificed himself to reset her as his equal (I can't say whether he actually thought this out, but it was either 'die together with her' or 'live forever alone').
Woman! hee-hee ... Heaven and Hell are 'Light and Darkness'; and you cannot 'create' darkness, you can only bring it about by 'emitting' something that blocks the light!
Yes, and they're too self-righteous to admit it! They make-believe that 'knowing all their sins are forgiven' permits them to tie on impenetrable blindfolds and pop-in impenetrable earplugs and proclaim in a deaf, blind voice, "BAA-AA-AA-AA-AA-AA-AA-AA!" as they scamper quickly away from- and/or generally deluge stones in the direction of-any who don't echo them in reply.

Amen! Publius (@MJ Dakota)
As far as humans (myself included) can know, all spiritual-beings are as real as 'optical illusions.'
