Next in the line of remakes of classic slasher-horror films is My Bloody Valentine 3D, which will be in theaters on January 16th 2009. According to Lionsgate Entertainment, this 3D remake of the 1981 horror flick is a "3D ride to Hell!"

Directed by Patrick Lussier, the updated 2009 version will take advantage of 3D technology and a cast starring Jensen Ackles in My Bloody Valentine 3D's lead role of Tom Hanniger. (Ackles has gained quite a following from his role as Dean Winchester in the hit WB television series "Supernatural") Joining Ackles in this 3D slasher film will be Jaime King, Kerr Smith, Kevin Tighe, and Tom Atkins.

The 2009 3D version will basically follow the same story line as the original, but picks up years later when the Hanninger (Ackles) returns to the town where 22 people were brutally murdered by the sole survivor of a coal mine accident. The accident could have been avoided if not for the negligence of Hanninger who was attending a Valentines party. When Hanninger returns, the killings start again. Who could the killer be this time? The original murderer was shot to death ending his gory killing spree. Could it be Hanninger?
