Watch out! Mac Leopard Upgraders Lose Wireless Connection
Many Mac users have upgraded to Leopard OS with relatively few glitches. But few others held back the upgrade when they heard all the bad stories about machines freezing up and facing the “blue screen of death” etc.
Now there’s this new report about how a number of Mac upgraders are losing their wireless connections -- uh-oh! That’s a no-no. No matter how spiffy and jazzy the GUI is, once you lose your Wi-Fi connection you’re toast. We can’t have that.
I monitor the web traffic on this issue and the impression I get is, downloads start normally at 54g but the transmission rate quickly goes downhill and reaches a halt. You lose the connection altogether. A severe bandwidth management issue is what we’re looking at.
2 million copies of Leopard sold so far but Apple has to fix these glitches first if wants to deepen its market penetration. Even the die-hard Mac-heads will wait and see what happens before they climb on Leopard’s finicky back.
