OK, I’ll admit I’m not a regular viewer of “Bones”, not being fascinated with crime shows, but I’m pleased that its star, Emily Deschanel, is an ethical vegan, AND that the latest episode, which aired the other night, has an animal rights vegetarian story line. 

It’s called “The Tough Man in the Tender Chicken”, and clearly Deschanel had a hand in the plot and script. In brief, it’s about the murder of a poultry slaughterhouse manager--is it the animal rights protesters outside or someone else?--and in the course of the show, a lot of information about the horrible treatment of factory-farmed chickens is included, plus animated discussions between the characters on the merits of saving animals from slaughter.
