Congress gets paid by Military industrial complex -- heck they are on the take on every-neocon-thing. Nukes are too cumbersome and too imprecise for crowd and riot control. And there should and will be some of that kind of thing happening. I'd like to pursue this to logical ends, but the real issue is what James Hansen has pointed out that we need to keep CO2 below 350 ppmv (which we passed in 1989) and that is something he knows. But I think we need to go down to under 300. Nukes, or military won't help global situation. Science Debate 2008 may or may not come off. But serious stuff is here. we on the downslope to extinction -- and not a thing can save us unless we act quickly and globally, and we must remove the CO2. The problem with an Earth umbrella is that it does not go after the source, and those at the source need to be stretching rope, lots of rope lots of stretch, and tribal and national qualms will have to be swallowed, Business won't save any thing.
