Wecome Home Roscoe Jenkins is a well cast movie with a great storyline. Martin Lawrence as a provincial southern lad turned successful self help teacher and personality is really good. The movie is about the return of the prodigy to his roots and home at Georgia for the parents 50thanniversary, with a snobbish girlfriend and surly kid in tow. How the town welcomes back RJ, and his small family's equation with what he left behind at home is portrayed in the movie. If the movie falls short, its in scripting and dialogues. The characters, the cast and the plot are however at times wasted with some inane slapstick comedy that at times degenerates into just short of filth! The movie also has Joy Bryant as the recalcitrant fiancee and Mo'nique as an exuberant sis. This Malcolm D. Lee directed movie also has Mike Epps and Michael Clarke Duncan and many others.
