Ways to control your spending
Set a limit.
Have an amount that you are allowed to spend and put the rest up for saving. If you don't set a limit, you may start spending money that was needed for other things, such as food or bills. That's when people start getting lots of credit cards and start racking up large amounts of debt.
Don't bring all of your money with you.
It's hard to spend money if you don't have it with you. Leave your money at the house or deposit it in your savings. Or if not your savings account, try an account that you can't withdraw from often (maybe a retirement fund). If you can't get to it, you can't spend it. So take as much as you are wanting yourself to spend at a time.
Set financial goals.
If there is something that you really want, start saving for it. It will also give you incentive to not spend all your money. The more money that you save for that special item is the closer that you get to actually owning it. So if there is something you would like, plan out how much you would be able to save. Once you know about how long it will take, you will have a time frame and something to work towards.
