Ways to invest in financials

On September 29th, 2008 the DOW dropped over 700 points. This was a crushing blow to not only the financial industry but many others. With stocks dropping, it can be hard to find a spot to make money. I suggest try something not so risky.

But if you want to invest in something risky that could have a large payoff, I suggest stock options. Make sure you research before you purchase them. If you are buying a "put" it means you believe that the stock will go further down until it reaches your strike price. For example if you feel that a bank in the financial industry will declare bankruptcy, you could purchase a put and make a very high return (depending on which you buy)

If you are not a risky person, this could be a good time to try to invest in something besides the stock market. Perhaps starting your own business, or something that you have more control of. Either can be risky but with the financial sector doing poorly, it can be hard to pick what to invest in. There are some stocks that will continue to increase, so be sure to keep your eye out for them.
