Ways to Appreciate Memorial Day
Ways to Appreciate Memorial Day
For some of us the Memorial Day weekend is just another 3 day weekend and the beginning of summer where we usually have friends and family over for a barbecue. For others it’s a little more than just having a barbecue, it’s also honoring and remembering all the men and woman who gave their lives for our country.
This year why not do something special for your Memorial Day weekend. Check with your local newspapers and see what events are going on in your town. State parks usually have a Memorial Exhibit dedicated to the men and woman that lived in the area, and served for their country.
Why not find an event and take your digital camera along and take some pictures of the activities being held for the day. Or just find a State Park in your area that has a dedicated Memorial Exhibit. You can usually find the State Parks, in your area, by going on the internet and doing a local search.
Visiting a State Park’s Memorial is an education in history and you will acquire more of an appreciation of all the men and woman that serve for our country. I myself visited a State Park last year and took many pictures of the Memorial Exhibit. I can tell you it was an education for me as well as an appreciation to all the men and woman who served their country.
Once you have participated in a Memorial Day event or just visit a Memorial Exhibit at your State Park you will have more of an appreciation of all the men and woman who gave their lives for the United States of America
