Ways To Market Your Small Business Online
posted May 27, 2008 - 6:25pmContinuous and targeted marketing is vital for your small business. The good news is marketing does not always have to cost you money. Many valuable ways of marketing are completely free.
If you are a small business owner with a small budget, marketing can seem like a daunting task. Fortunately, the internet and social networks allow for free advertising. The internet is constantly changing and so is marketing.
One form of marketing is network marketing. It is very beneficial for your business. Go on Google and do a search for networks or social network sites. There will be plenty to choose.

BLOGGING
Good places to register for creating your own blog are blogger.com and wordpress.com.
Create an informative blog. Fill it full of helpful content and be consistent with your postings. Post creative information regurlarly. Do not write about your products. Your readers will become board with your blog and not return. Give them valuable information they can use.
Visit other blogs and leave comments. If you need to register, make sure your website is included. When your name appears on your comment it will link to your website. People have a natural curiosity. They will visit your site and may just make a purchase.
Register your blog with blogcatalog.com. Join groups, neighborhoods, and make friends. This increases your visibility. It will greatly help get your name out. Make sure to create a widget of each blog network to show on your blog.
Register your blog with bloggerchoiceawards.com. Blogger Choice Awards allows people to rate your blog. As you rise in the ratings, you also rise with potential customers.
Register with spicypage.com. Spicy Page also allows people to rate you. It is shown in an easier to view format. People can leave comments and I suggest you do the same for other sites. If you want the ratings here, be prepared to get out there and rate other sites. The more - the better.
Make sure to create a widget of each blog network to show on your blog.
VIRAL MARKETING
Write your own eBook full of helpful and useful information. Include your bio with information about your product or service with your website link. Now give it away! People love free stuff. Let them know that they are welcomed to give it away also.
YOUTUBE PODCASTING EBAY VIDEOS
This form of marketing has become more and more popular. People love watching your videos and listening to podcasts. Again, people love free stuff. You do not have to pay for this; just upload your video on your page.
SOCIAL NETWORKS
Facebook.com has about 15 million worldwide users. The prospects are limitless. You can also send cost effective emails out.
Ryze.com has changed a bit. I prefer how it was set up years ago, but it still is a great resource. There are hundreds of networks you can join. The individual network will usually have a day for advertisements. On other days, you can have your signature link to your website. You can also make your Ryze page around your business.
Ning.com allows you to create your very own network within its network. You can then invite people to join your network. Your network can be individualized in it look.
360 Yahoo profile is the newest that I have found. You can create a very individualized looking avatar through your Yahoo account. In your profile, include your favorite list of things, books, and movies. You can create a blog and a shout out. Then go and search for friends to let them know about your new profile.
JOINT VENTURES
Years past the greatest thing was link exchange. Now it is joint ventures. Contact companies close to your venue. Let them know that you would like to advertise their site for them free, and you will give away their eBook. Ask them kindly to the same for you.
GOOGLE ADSENSE
Sign up for a Google account. Setup the adsense area as instructed. Place the code on your website and blogs. You can have three ads per page. You then earn revenue from people clicking on the ads from your page.
ARTICLE MARKETING
Write articles about what you know and what you would like to learn. If you do not know the subject, do your homework first, and then write it. Include a bio with your web link. Some good places to submit are other websites, helium.com, ehow.com, contant-content.com, and associatedcontent.com. Offer to give your articles free of charge as long as they give you the bio.
Be patient and do not rely on one method. Relying on one strategy is foolish. Try a few or all of them. This will greatly increase your visibility and profit.
