We Are All Pastors, Preachers, and Teachers, In One Form or Another

We Are All Pastors, Preachers, and Teachers, In One Form or Another

What do pastors do? Simply, they lead people. So, if you lead people in a church, you are a pastor. If you lead people to the tavern, you are leading the sheep to fire water. If you lead your neighbor into sin then you are an evil shepherd. If you are quiet and very still, you are a lazy shepherd and lead people to be shut down like yourself. We all influence people by our behavior whether good or bad to go more in one direction or another. So by default, we are all pastors.

What comes out of your mouth? If you talk about God you are a preacher of God. If you talk about cars, you preach cars. If you talk about the tavern then you are a preacher of alcohol. We all preach some message just by opening our mouths, just some more than others.

800px-Teacher_Boris_Kustodiev.jpg  And as you guessed it, we are all teachers. So, what are you teaching? You may say, “I don’t teach,” just by your very actions you teach people that is ok to not make a choice and to cast off the responsibility of your lecture. Not to choose what you are going to teach is still a choice; it's just that you are trying to cast off responsibility.

Therefore, since you are already a Pastor, Preacher, and Teacher and you are going to get a reward for wherever you lead, whatever you speak, and whatever you teach, my question is to you, what type of rewards do you want to get?

Just some food for thought for today.
