Web design and development

When it comes to website design there are 3 things you must have in order to succeed. First is the design. Having something in mind before you start is a must. It will determine the direction of the site. Second is the graphics. This too is a big option. It will determine if your customers come back, stay on the site, and spend their money with you. Third and most important is the code. This can range from Meta tags to the code for your shopping cart or applications. Meta tags are critical if you wish the search engines to find you and list you. It’s important to have the title, keywords, and description tags.

The programs that I use for design and development are FrontPage, Dreamweaver, Paint Shop Pro and Filezilla. FrontPage is a great direct connection to your hosting account for working on a site. Dreamweaver has great CSS editing features as well as plugins. Paint Shop Professional is a really good graphic arts program. These programs can give you all the tools you need to make just about any kind of website that you can think of. These programs provide everything from database driven (dynamic) websites, to simple personal pages. If you’re on a tight budget like many then you should stick with FrontPage and Paint Shop. These two programs alone can make some really awesome websites seem like gravy. For more information on
