Week 7 NFL Power Rankings 2008

Week 7 NFL Power Rankings 2008

2
points

With the NFC East finally looking vulnerable, there are going to be some big shake ups in this week Power Rankings. And now there is only one undefeated team left so guess who is number one...

1. Tennessee Titans (5 - 0)

They take the top spot on a bye week simply because they are the last team standing. I don't see their streak ending next week against Kansas City either.

2. NY Giants (4 - 1)

Yes they stumbled pretty hard last night but with lots of other loses this week they only fall to second.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers (4 - 1)

They got some much needed healing done this week. Imagine what they will be able to do when they are healthy.

4. Buffalo Bills (4 - 1)

I'm still not completely sold on the Bills but they have won some close games that bad teams would let get away.

5. Washington Redskins (4 - 2)

The trap game was there last week and the Redskins fell right into it. What was that Offensive Lineman thinking we he decided to run with that loose ball?

6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4 - 2)

Another team that I think is over achieving right now but they blew out their biggest rival last week so I can't say too much bad about them. Oh, Gruden, keep Garcia in.

7. San Diego Chargers (3 - 3)

The healthier LT gets, the better this team gets. If it wasn't for a blow call, they would be leading their division right now.

8. Indianapolis Colts (3 - 2)

Big, big win last week. They made the Ravens look bad on defense and that is a tough thing to do. They are in every game as long as they have Manning to Wayne.

9. Jacksonville Jaguars (3 - 3)

This team has been within a touchdown of all three of their loses. The bye week coming up will see some injured Jags coming back. Tough team that easily beat Denver at their house.

10. Dallas Cowboys (4 - 2)

They just haven't looked the same the last 3 weeks have they? With no Romo or Felix Jones for the next month, I question their ability to win.

11. Philadelphia Eagles (3 - 3)

The only NFC East team to win last week and they needed that chance to gain a game on the competition. They are very fortunate to have a backup RB as good as Buckwalter.

12. Arizona Cardinals (4 - 2)

A good but not great team. They will win the NFC West based on their ability to score points alone.

13. Denver Broncos (4 - 2)

They really have to get some of their other receivers back and Jay Cutler needs to be more careful with the ball. Say it to yourself before you go to bed Jay, "I am not John Elway".

14. Atlanta Falcons (4 - 2)

Can you believe that the Falcons are 4 and 2 right now? Me neither. The game at Philadelphia in Week 8 will tell us if this team is for real.

15. New York Jets (3 - 2)

As Brett gets more and more comfortable in the new offense, this team will keep getting wins.

16. Carolina Panthers (4 - 2)

What happened last week? The Panthers star is already starting to dim with an embarrassing divisional loss last week to Tampa Bay.

17. New Orleans Saints (3 - 3)

Did you know Drew Bress is on pace to break Dan Marino's record of most yards passing in a season? Did you realize they are still 3 and 3?

18. Green Bay Packers (3 - 3)

If I had to guess who was going to pull ahead in the NFC North this season it would still have to be the Packers. They are still the best all around team in their division.

19. Chicago Bears (3 - 3)

That was a devastating last second loss to the Falcons last weeks. That's the kind of loss that hangs with a team all season.

20. Minnesota Vikings (3 - 3)

Barely beating the Lions in what was the worst played game of the week is not really a compliment. They play the Bears this week so that should clear the log jam in the division

21. Miami Dolphins (2 - 3)

They are a scrapy team due to some good coaching. With their unpredictable offense, no team should want to play them right now.

22. New England Patriots (3 - 2)

Not a good team. Not a good team without Tom Brady and, if I do say so myself, they wouldn't be good even with Tom Brady.

23. Cleveland Browns (2 - 3)

They showed life last night but I'm still not convinced they will be a contender this season. They just don't seem to have any fire in their bellies.

24. Baltimore Ravens (2 - 3)

Poor performance last week. No time for a break either since they missed their bye week because of Hurricane Ike.

25. San Francisco 49ers (2 - 4)

Below average team whose only two wins have come against the Seahawks and the Lions. Such a shame, Frank Gore is an excellent running back.

26. Houston Texans (1 - 4)

A gutsy win last week and some bad luck in the previous week has this team at 1 and 4. They are a better team than that record says and with the Lions and Bengals coming up next look for them to improve to 3 and 4 quickly.

27. Seattle Seahwaks (1 - 4)

They has to win last week to have any hope for this season and they didn't. So goes the end of the Mike Holmgren era in Seattle and their division title streak.

28. St. Louis Rams (1 - 4)

New coach and they finally get a win. Marc Bulger is a much better QB than an ancient Trent Green and he proved that last week.

29. Kansas City Chiefs (1 - 4)

How many franchise players are they going to deal today? I think that's the only thing of interest going on here.

30. Oakland raiders (1 -4)

I don't think the coach was the problem in Oakland, I think it is the owner.

31. Cincinnati Bengals (0 - 6)

I hear that Bengals fans are dumping all of their tickets off a StubHub at cut rate prices. Expecting the Steelers game this Sunday to be more Yellow than Orange.

32. Detroit Lions (0 - 6)

This has to be the most inept organization that football has ever seen.
