Weight loss and health: Why diet pill isn't the best choice
posted March 8, 2009 - 9:11pmWeight is a problem in America today. Research has shown that weight is one of our biggest concern and we need to reduce weight for the better of our health. Weight management is one of the nation's biggest concern. There are also an increase in child obesity. This is also
a concern.
What do people do to help them lose weight? They like to take over the counter weight loss pill? They like the easier method but pills are not that effective in helping you lose weight and they could cost you your health. Diet pills can throw off your thyroid and you can end up gaining more weight than before and you can throw it out of its normal function. Diet pills can be on the not so safe side. It does work but you would rather drink green tea to help suppress your appetite since it's a natural tea without many side effects and it has tons of health benefits like being an anti-cancer agent, reduce acne, calm down digestion, speed up your metabolism and many more.
Weight loss pill over the counter will only help you lose an average of 5 lbs per year with good diet and exercise. Do you think this is a major change in your weight? Of course not! What this tells us is that we shouldn't rely so much on weight loss pill but on lifestyle changes like healthy eating and exercising. Weight loss pills can be costly but ineffective. There have been little research that proves its effectiveness.
One time I was taking an over the counter diet pill and I ended up with muscle spasm from my head down. This was an adverse effect. I felt tightening of my head to neck muscle and I stopped using the weight loss pill. Different people react to weight loss pill differently. You could have a condition inside of you that cause you to not accept the drug. You can also be allergic to it. You can become dependent on it emotionally even though it doesn't really help you. You think that taking the medication will get rid of your weight problems and therefore you can't go without it. The opposite is true. Most weight loss have been said to be ineffective. They only help you shed 5-8 pounds per year. This is very minor weight change when you're 100 pounds overweight.
You can try to take it if you feel like you have craving problems because some pills can lower your appetite like green tea. I have took green tea and found them to be effective. It does control my appetite and helps decrease my indigestion and bloating. Green tea is not harmful and can
be bought any any grocery store. You can try different herbs that treat weight loss rather than powder pills. Herbs tend to be effective and harmless without many side effects.
One dangerous thing about over the counter weight loss pill is that it contain some ephedra or all of it. Ephedra has been banned because of its dangerous side effects such as stroke, hypertension, heart risk, and even death; however, it's still available on the internet and sold as tea. You should never take ephedra pills because it's life-threatening. Some of the current weight loss pill has been shown to have a little bit of ephedra ingredient which is not good for your health at all. These pills are country mallow and bitter orange. Other pills over the counter have not had any weight loss producing evidence. What they are saying is that you should focus on eating healthy, reducing fats and calories, and exercise more as these will naturally aid weight loss more than weight loss pill.
