Weight Loss Tips Everybody Can Use
posted June 2, 2009 - 8:30pmThese days everybody seems to be concerned about their weight. The internet is full of weight loss articles, special diets, and exercise regimens. Unfortunately for most people the majority of these "diets" and "regimens" never actually work. The truth is, if you eat properly and get enough daily activity, dieting and exercise are usually not even necessary for weight loss. Let me explain.
On a normal day the average person consumes three meals. The problem with this is there is a large gap of time between meals and we begin to fee hungry. Then our instincts take over and we fill our stomachs until we feel full. You see, this is counter productive to weight loss because our bodies will not be able to use all the energy from the food. Instead, it will store the energy as fat. It is far more beneficial to eat smaller nutritious meals in between your regular meal. Your regular meals should be smaller as well, and as a general rule of thumb, you should never eat until you are full, as I said this would be counter productive to weight loss.
Most "experts" would like you to believe that daily exercise regimens are necessary for weight loss. Actually, I propose that rather than exercising daily, you attempt to add more regular activity into your days. This is not a new concept but it is far under-utilized by individuals looking to lose weight. Not everybody has time to stop what their doing and hop onto a treadmill, but most of us could easily park at the end of a parking lot. So next time you go shopping, rather than waiting for that ideal parking spot next to the entrance, head to the back of the lot where all the empty parking spots are and walk the extra distance. The inconvenience is worth the results and if you can make this type of behavior a habit your passengers may loathe you but you'll thank yourself for it in due time.
One of the most important things you can do for your health and body is to avoid crash diets, weight loss pills, and other questionable wight loss practices. Crash diets almost always result in failure. It is true that you will lose the wight but then you are twice as likely to gain it back. Not only that it may start a "yo-yo" cycle of weight loss. This is very harmful to your body and can be damaging to your mind. Weight loss pills are in most cases not evaluated by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and many contain harmful side effects. Crash diets and wight loss pills are also not very easy to stick with. Hence, the "yo-yo" weight fluctuation issues. It is far easier to find things that you can incorporate seamlessly into your daily life.
I hope you see what I mean about weight loss. It is far easier to lose weight when you understand how to incorporate activity and proper eating into your daily life. You don't need to diet and exercise in the traditional sense. If your objective is simply to experience weight loss all you need to do is eat smaller meals more often throughout the day, and find ways to habitually add more activity into your routine. It may seem difficult at first but I promise you, if you stick with it, it will become habit. Now get out there and make some changes that will lead to a happier and healthier life.
