What are you really shopping for?
posted August 31, 2006 - 3:59amThe Joy of shopping is not for everyone. In my many years of 'going to the mall' the observation of other consumers has finally gotten to me. The overall experience has developed into a greed frenzy of people pushing others asside and snatching up what they think they want.
I know I may sound like a 16 year old girl with this point, but the fact of the matter is - Why do you need your brand new Armani handbag? Why does your son need the latest and greatest pair of tennis shoes on the market?
It is all a bi-product of the media making you think you NEED these things.
If people were not so focused on working for someone else, to get something from someone ELSE, that someone ELSE is telling you that you NEED then maybe people would spend more time educating themselves and their famillies.
Think about the combination of the time you spend making money, then think about the time you spend thinking about what you want and THEN think about how much time you put into getting these things.
How much of your time does that take up?
