What Can You Do When Your Baby Is Diagnosed With Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)

When my baby was born she was diagnose with GERD or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease. This is also known as Reflujo in Spanish. This horrible condition caused lots of heart ache for my baby. Many adults suffer from this and they have problems. Now imagine a new born baby having the disease. She would throw up every thing she ate, she would cry for hours after eating and would not sleep. I did some research on the web about the disease and found a great website that gives a lot of information on easing the symptoms. You should try taking a look. It was very helpful for me and my baby.

Our grandson too

Celanith Our daughters youngest of six has the same problem. She was breastfeeding and he was just not getting enough to eat and throwing everything up and cried and cried and was losing weight. They took him to the doctor and he sent them to the hospital as they were not sure what the problems were. The found he had GERD'S he is a fat sassy baby now and 10 months old and doing well. They put him on Whey Milk from Nestles and he takes a special medication he will have to take until he is possibly eight but they said most kids do out grow it. They also found my daughter was so exhausted her milk supply was depleted. She did nurse him for 2.5 months though. But he would get this frantic look in his eyes before they found the problem. He is just now taking solids, rice cereal, bananas, oatmeal, squash blander foods and they said he is not to have milk until he is 12 to 18 months old. To introduce things slowly. But he is doing very well.
