WHAT CAUSES ACNE FLARE-UPS?

1)Picking and squeezing the spots may cause further inflammation and scarring

2)Stress can make acne worse in some people.

3)In women, outbreaks may be affected by the hormonal changes that occur during the menstrual cycle

4)Some contraceptive pills may make acne worse. This is due to the type of progestogen hormone in some pills whereas other types of contraceptive pills can improve acne.

WHAT TO EAT:

1)Fruits like oranges and sweet lime contain vitamin C and help in reducing acne.

2)Eat more of cereals and grains (bread, cereal, oatmeal, rice, spaghetti).

3)Fish, lean meats, poultry, dried beans, peas and lentils.

4)Low fat dairy products.

5)Avoid eating too mich sugar, use less salt and limit alcohol.
