What To Do If A Leopard Gecko Drops It's Tail?

 

As everyone may know being either new or experienced leopard gecko owners the leopard gecko has the ability to drop its tail when feeling threatened. Typically a gecko which is kept in captivity will be unlikely to drop its tail due to the lack in predators in your own household other then nosy ferrets, dogs, cats, and other lizard loving animals. "Even though in some cases love is not the expression for these acts."

 

What happens when a leopard gecko drops its tail?

 

Personally I have never experienced any of my own geckos losing their tails but I have "seen" it happen. When a gecko drops its tail it will typically create a shaking twitching motion along the tail, sometimes this action will lead to releasing of the tail, and sometimes it does not actually lead to tail dropping at all.

 

I know I have said in a previous article that when taming a gecko you should not allow aggression to show the gecko it has any affect on you, in this case it is better for your geckos health to try to eliminate the cause of the actions to prevent....
