What happened to The Maury Povich Show? If memory serves me right it used to be decent a few years ago. Now it seems he has gone the way of Jerry Springer in the I-cheated-on-you-with-a-midget-who-has-a-foot-fetish days. Nothing but pure trash on the show these days. Every single day it's the same crap - cheating spouses and daddy DNA tests. It's really sick.

What is so appealing about this show? We have a middle aged white man egging on deadbeat moms and dads and an annoying, screaming, booing crowd to boot. Every day it's the story of a woman who cheated on her longtime husband and wants to break the secret that their children might not be his. Or it's a woman who slept with four different men and doesn't know which of the irresponsible bunch is her baby's daddy. Maury just kind of sits there and pretends to console the women. He has that, "You get 'em, girlfriend!" attitude. And it just screams irritating and phony! It's like some twisted women empowerment show these days except that the women are nasty and do not deserve anyone to feel bad for them.

Men are treated like garbage on the show. It doesn't matter what the situation is, the men can guarantee that when they step out on the stage the crowd is going to boo and harass them endlessly. Most of the men really are garbage though. Stating that a baby can't be theirs because it is too chubby to come from a man with washboard abs. Not helping out with child support or helping to raise the child. Or, my personal favorite, the men who are there the whole time during the pregnancy and as soon as the baby arrives run away saying that the kid is not theirs. How disgusting does it get, honestly? Women are portrayed as good-for-nothing whores. Swearing up and down that so-and-so is the father of their illegitimate child and dragging man after man on the show only to find that they were wrong and have to start the search for a daddy from the beginning again. These women are ridiculous. And these men sicken me.

How is it that this kind of programming is aired on tv? Why is Maury still making a living doing his talkshow. It's not even a talk show as far as I am concerned. It is trash. Montel is a talk show host, Dr. Phil is a talk show host..but Maury Povich? He is just cashing in on slimy material that never changes. The show has really turned into a second rate Jerry Springer and that's really saying something.
