What is and is NOT Acceptable Content on Xomba...and Why. READ THIS (PoisedGuru)

Ok so.

We need to set some further guidelines now because I forgot about the Google Adsense Terms of Service which go above and beyond the Xomba ones.

But first I need to tell you why. If we do not adhere to the Google Adsense policies then a terrible thing will happen. Not only will Xomba's Adsense account be revoked, but most probably everyone on the site may be revoked. They have been known to take such harsh and drastic measures in the past. I know one user on here that has no Adsense for something like this. Anyway, if Xomba loses its Adsense account then no one here gets paid. See why it's important? If you lose your Adsense account then you won't get paid. Also very important no? That is one of the main reasons why you are all here right?

If you read anything on this, at least make it the bolded statements please

Ok first we'll start with the Xomba ones which are fairly straightforward though lengthy. I'll highlight the more common ones

Xomba.com may delete any Content that in the sole judgment of Xomba.com violates this Agreement or which may be offensive, illegal or violate the rights, harm, or threaten the safety of any person.

This is important because if something violates the rules and endangers the site we must take action.

Content unacceptable by Xomba.com:

  • patently offensive and promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual.
  • harasses or advocates harassment of another person.
  • exploits people in a sexual or violent manner
  • contains nudity, violence, or offensive subject matter
  • solicits personal information from anyone under 18
  • provides any telephone numbers, street addresses, last names, or email addresses
  • promotes information that you know is false or misleading or promotes illegal activities or conduct that is abusive, threatening, obscene, defamatory or libelous
  • promotes an illegal or unauthorized copy of another person's copyrighted work.
  • involves the transmission of "junk mail," "chain letters," or unsolicited mass mailing, instant messaging, "spimming," or "spamming"
  • contains restricted or password only access pages or hidden pages or images (those not linked to or from another accessible page)
  • furthers or promotes any criminal activity or enterprise or provides instructional information about illegal activities including, but not limited to making or buying illegal weapons, violating someone's privacy, or providing or creating computer viruses
  • solicits passwords or personal identifying information for commercial or unlawful purposes from other Users
  • involves commercial activities and/or sales without our prior written consent such as contests, sweepstakes, barter, advertising, or pyramid schemes
  • includes a photograph of another person that you have posted without that person's consent
  • for band and filmmaker profiles, uses sexually suggestive imagery or any other unfair, misleading or deceptive Content intended to draw traffic to the profile.
  • criminal or tortious activity, including child pornography, fraud, trafficking in obscene material, drug dealing, gambling, harassment, stalking, spamming, spimming, sending of viruses or other harmful files, copyright infringement, patent infringement, or theft of trade secrets
  • advertising to, or solicitation of, any Member to buy or sell any products or services through the Services.
  • covering or obscuring the banner advertisements on your personal profile page, or any Xomba.com page via HTML/CSS or any other means
  • any automated use of the system

Whew, I know it's a long list to get through. But that's nothing. Here's the Google Adsense list:

Site may not include:

  • Excessive profanity
  • Violence, racial intolerance, or advocate against any individual, group, or organization
  • Hacking/cracking content
  • Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia
  • Pornography, adult, or mature content
  • Gambling or casino-related content
  • Excessive advertising
  • Any other content that promotes illegal activity or infringes on the legal rights of others
  • Pop-ups, pop-unders or exit windows that interfere with site navigation, obscure Google ads, change user preferences, or are for downloads. Other types of pop-ups, pop-unders, or exit windows may be allowed, provided that they do not exceed a combined total of 5 per user session
  • Excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords in the content or code of web pages
  • Deceptive or manipulative content or construction to improve your site's search engine ranking, e.g., your site's PageRank
  • Incentives (monetary or point-based) to users or third-party beneficiaries for online activity including, but not limited to, clicking on ads or links, performing searches, surfing websites, reading emails, or completing surveys
  • Sales or promotion of certain weapons, such as firearms, ammunition, balisongs, butterfly knives, and brass knuckles
  • Sales or promotion of beer or hard alcohol/li>
  • Sales or promotion of tobacco or tobacco-related products
  • Sales or promotion of prescription drugsimitations of designer goods
  • Sales or promotion of products that are replicas or imitations of designer goods

Essentially think of the site as PG-13. One use of Fuck is ok as long as it is an expletive and not pertaining to a sexual act. Nudity isn't acceptable because that will normally get an R rating in film. Unless of course it's the backside of a man which is ok for some reason and would only rate a PG-13 rating while a woman's bare backside would rate it an R.

Some things about the MPAA rating system to help you along the way. Taken from the Wiki on the MPAA Rating system.

  • A reference to drugs, such as marijuana, usually gets a movie a PG-13 rating at a minimum
  • A "graphic" or "explicit" scene of illegal drug use will earn a film at least a PG-13 rating and, especially in the case of "hard drugs", even an R rating.
  • If a film contains strong sexual content, it usually receives at least an R rating.
  • Violence which includes bloodshed will usually receive an R rating

So I hope that helps guide you along the way as you post on Xomba. Come on! You knew there had to be SOME rules here! ;)

Whoa whoa...I can only read so fast.

Ok let's see what to respond to first. Hypocrisy is a good place to start from someone I know rather well..isn't that right Anthony? We must do what we must do because it is required by our business partners. If we made a mistake, we deserve a second chance. Don't you think Anthony? I mean, you got a second chance didn't you? So, as we stated, if you see something that is over the line then you should flag it and we will read it. Of course everyone could do us a great huge favor and police yourselves so we don't have to walk around like those janitor dudes after the circus parade goes by. These rules must be enforced because this is our livelihood and will be for some time. I for one would rather eat and do this than have to go work in a factory all day. Not that factory work is bad, it's just not what I want to do. Darrell: You're right, we will have a tough time drawing the line. Which is why we have problems already, because the line is blurred. But I will make sure the line becomes firm and clear over the next few weeks. I was fairly certain the link to the MPAA rating article on Wiki would help. Apparently it has not. Cmofi: If you are having problems with Adsense and not getting money then perhaps you should have contacted Admin or myself and asked us about it and we could check your adsense account and make sure everything is ok. The Offensive Flag: I will revisit Antonia's posting and if deemed inappropriate I will remove it and explain to her why it was removed. Poised Guru Xomba Moderator

Good question.... You'll have to use your best judgement.

Question for xomba

there was a post recently flagged as offensive yet xomba lifted the flag in place of a disclaimer. This post seemed to be the very thing you are now asking us to avoid. So I guess I'm asking why then this hypocrisy?

I did not

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky." Fluids? Pinching? Hooker Flashing? "I wanna party with you Lee Harvey! That story about the cow and..." "Never argue with an idiot. The people watching might not know the difference" <script src="

I don't get paid in this

I don't get paid in this website. I fill out the application at the very beginning but no one ever response back. I have never gotten a cent out of xomba. I just come because I like to write and someone else reads my stuff before my self. If anyone is making any money at XOMBA tell me how, because I'm not.

Sons-a-Bleeps

I understand. I think your going to have a hard time determining that line. I loved Lady's story and thought it was one of the best fictional posts here. While a little graphic you could see where this was going to set this woman state of mind and how she was being treated. I hope she can rewrite it without losing that feel. It didn't feel like erotica to me but, what do I know. So...if I say I was driving down the road and a hooker flashed her privates at me (upper and lower) you would have to remove that or do I have to use offensive language too? I mean is my post about boobs and periods too much? Is pinching to graphic or penatration(?)? Can sex be described but not fluids and graphic language? Help me.

Dammit...where's my party hat!

Oh hell. I'm always late to the party. Well I guess I better go take off my birthday suit...no wait, that's slip into something more comfortable. No I mean... feh... I'll just go be a wallflower.

Let me continue

There are users that are under the age of 18 on this site. None of us want to make this a site that can only be used by people who are 18 and up. If we did that then people like Corbow won't be able to use the site anymore. The bottom line guys is that this is Google Adsense's rules. So no need to get mad at us. We didn't make them.

Feel me, do I feel funny? "Never argue with an idiot. The people watching might not know the difference" <script src="

Aye Erik

Let me re-phrase PG's comment. 1. There is a Xomba. 2. There is no Xomba. I'm open to listening to other ideas. The goal of this site is to provide a community for writers. Adult/Erotic Fiction Authors make a very very very small portion of this website. Unfortunately, we cannot help them. There are adult sites that would allow postings of erotic fiction. The challenge you face is just like anywhere else. Any editor has restrictions on what he/she can allow to be published. You just have to find creative ways to describe certian acts that would be considered to graphic.
