What is behind General Electric's push to "Green"

We hear on the news and in the major media practically every day about global warming. Well I can't say that I believe in it one way or the other. However GE feels they have found something that they they can put themselves behind. For profit of course.

As you know GE is a major conglomerate corporation owning multiple companies and also NBC. Which is why a few weeks ago they had the "Green Week" on NBC.

GE produces components for all forms of energy products from wind turbines, to solar cells. However a little known fact is that they control approximately 60% of the production components that goes into building nuclear power plants.

"The big utilities, along with such powerhouse nuclear equipment makers as General Electric, were generous funders of George W’s run for the White House - and their payback was the Energy Policy Act of 2005, which has resuscitated the beast. How? By pumping it full of new
government subsidies."

You will see in the next few years a call for a global carbon tax or a tax for breathing. More carbon offset programs which are a scam (give me money and I'll plant a tree for you, and you get this certificate) and finally a push for nuclear energy which at the moment they claim is the only "clean" energy neglecting the waste it produces. Don't be fooled this is not about the environment and more so about energy independence.
