What is Mesothelioma?

Malignant mesothelioma is a form of a rare cancer affecting the sac lining of the chest, or the lining of abdominal cavity or the lining around the heart.
Most people who get mesothelioma cancer have worked on jobs where they breathed asbestos or were exposed to asbestos in a household environment.
One of the problems with this disease is the long period of development from the initial exposure to the diagnosis. An exposure of as little as 1-2 months can cause mesothelioma cancer 30 or more years later.
People who worked in construction jobs are more prone to the exposure containing asbestos.
Some common products that contain asbestos are:

* Insulation on pipes,boilers,cements,plasters and other joint compounds.

* compounds used in insulation of furnaces, boilers

* Roof, floor, and ceiling tiles.

* Brakes and clutches

People need to be informed about the dangers of asbestos which have widely been used in a variety of industrial products.
