So the first family are about to receive the first dog - a Portuguese water dog leading us all to ask - what on earth is one of those.

Well, like to poodle and the labradoodle they are good for people with fur allergies due to the nature of their fur.

They are supposed to make great family dogs and are intelligent.

As the name suggests - they love water.
