What's on Your Royal Reading List?

What's on Your Royal Reading List?

Royal Reading, for those not familiar with the expression, is when you peruse a book, newspaper, or magazine while engaged in a completely natural activity on the "throne" in your home.

Now, ideally, your diet and lifestyle are sufficient that you don't spend copious amounts of time engaged in Royal Reading. Or, if you are like me--a parent--engaging in this activity is the only way you'll get enough quiet time to read in relative peace. Whatever works for you.

This brings us to the question du jour: What's on your Royal Reading list? Are you a book, magazine, or newspaper reader?

Me, I prefer trivia books and lighter fare, but almost exclusively books since they are broken down into chapters and I can pace the story more efficiently. On that note, you may find that a book is a really gooooood story when you finish what you believe was just a short stretch of reading only to find that both of your legs have fallen asleep.

So, since this is something that seems to common to all of us writers (um, the reading habitually part, the rest is TMI LOL), what's on your Royal Reading List?

Royal Reading

This is a habit I picked up as young as 7 years old. With 3 brothers who enjoyed 'torturing' the little sister, my escape was the bathroom. Whether on the throne or in the tub, a book was in hand. Currently I have Aristotle; Selections from Nicomachean Ethics that travels from nightstand to throne. I also have a great fondness for Mary Higgins Clark, Dean Koontz, and Danielle Steel. I also read by topics, but those depend on my moods. MJ - Sending happy thoughts and Smiles! Avatar: Betrayal and Retribution http://www.valkyrieart.com/Poser1.html

Royal Reading

I generally don't have a habit of "Royal Reading"; I leave that to my husband and now my son too. My husband will take the "Mumbai Mirror" every day in the morning whereas my son likes to take his comics (Archie digest or Calvin and Hobbes). I love reading while relaxing on my bed and then its very difficult for me to let go of the book till I have reached its conclusion. So I will take it everywhere I go till it is finished! I have just stacked myself up with some great PG Wodehouse books and am looking forward to digging into them this summer vacation. They have just the right sense of humor and keeps me in a cheerful (witty) mood. Get money writing articles on Xomba Here

Two words, mamamia: Dean Koontz

My wife and I both blew through Dean Koontz' Odd Thomas series and I've read some of his other non-related novels. This was the last author I read where I deliberately sacrificed sleep to read more chapters (not in the Royal Reading sense, though). CLICK HERE TO JOIN XOMBA TODAY!

- Xomba articles and IPL news! I am trying to go through Rich Dad Poor Dad now - but the book doesn't really work for me. Xomba reading is the most I go through some days. Honestly I am looking for some recommendations now - haven't read a good book since ages. My Xomba Page
