What will the Economic Stimulus Package do for Average Americans

As the U.S. Government has released $700 billion to supposedly stimulate a flailing economy, many Americans continue to lose homes and jobs. What will this stimilus package do for Americans in the long run?

1) Increase taxes for every single American.
President Obama has promised tax increases only for the "rich" in America. The reality is that every single American will pay higher taxes in one form or another. We can all look forward to higher sales taxes on products.

Despite his promise, President Obama cannot ignore a record budget deficit. Congress will have no choice but to increase taxes on every single American. The taxes may be disguised; but, mark my word, they will be there.

2) Lose more of our Workforce
President Obama's tax plan will hit small business owners the hardest. Small businesses provide over 70% of American workers with jobs. Tax increases will force those owners to cut more jobs due to a loss of profit. The increased taxes coupled with a downturn in demand for products and services will give small business owners no choice but to reduce workforce.

We can all be thankful that this so-called bailout will provide enough money for companies such as AIG to dole out millions in bonuses to their executives. We can also be thankful that children will continue to be able to shoot wooden arrows since $6 million alone will go to help keep the wooden arrow manufacturer afloat.

And all NASCAR fans can rest easy. We may be out of our homes and without a job, but we'll still have the racetracks since $128 million in tax credits will help keep those tracks going.

If you love Puerto Rican rum, you're in luck. Another $192 million will see to it that the rum continues to flow into the continental United States.

So; let's all stand up and applaud our government for stimulating our economy and helping us to each become more and more dependent on the government doles.
