What is a wine Aerator and how do they work

Wine aerators are useful things. Typically we open a bottle of red wine and just plough straight into it.

Other times, particularly if it’s a special bottle, we decide to follow the instructions at let it breath for an hour or so.

This is something that’s often a little hard to do, particularly at parties when a new bottle needs opening.

So if you are having a party, occasionally buy fancy red wines, or particularly if you’re having a wine tasting event, then this might be your solution.

Wine is poured into the glass or the decanter through the aerator. The pressure caused by the wine (and its gravitational pull), drags air up into the aerator and mixes into the wine.

Wine that has been aerated is said to have a smoother flavor, it allows the individual characteristics of the flavor and aroma to come to the front.

It may be some fun at a wine tasting party to allow guests to compare the same wine, not aerated and aerated.

A popular aerator that’s attracting a lot of attention is the Vinturi Wine Aerator that’s selling at about 50 dollars (34.10 on Amazon).

It might sound like a lot of money but if it makes your 20 dollar bottle of wine taste like a 20 dollar bottle (rather than a 10 dollar bottle), then maybe over time there is quite a saving to be had.

I'm a Mad Dog man. And the only time aerate it is when I throw it at my hos. And trust me - it don't taste any better aerated on a ho. :) Visit my homepage here

Aerator

A good friend got one for Christmas also, this is the first time I had seen one, and we all tested it out at new year, it did make quite a bit of difference. I now want one of my own. Thanks for your comment. Check out my articles!

Wonder if it can make

Boone's Farm or Richard's Wild Irish Rose taste decent? Now that would be a miracle...

Got One For Xmas

And it is awesome! I think it is especially good at making cheap wine smoother and more palatable than it normally would be.
