While Jesus walked the earth during the end years of His life, He wasn't supportive of the current regime. He acknowledged that there was a difference between living one's life on earth while still attending to things that were more important. The Republicans and Democrats of the day--the Pharisees and Sadducees--didn't like His brand of politics, not unlike those politicians today who speak against the unconstitutional status quo, and they crucified Him for it. Sure, they worked within the "law" to make it look legitimate, but he opened the eyes of the masses to what the politicians of the day were doing contrary to God's law. The terrorists of the world are not (mostly) committing acts of violence for violence's sake. No, they are trying to get the attention of those who hold the power so that their own right to exist can be acknowledged and respected. If there was political equality and bi-directional respect, then there would be no terrorism. As with the Pharisees and Sadducees, who selectively interpreted the law for their own benefit and aggrandizement at the expense of the masses of people, politicians live above the laws they write for common people and use taxpayers as their own personal ATM to live lives common people can only dream about.
