Free World of Warcraft Gold Making Guide

Hopefully you have at least 1 level 70 character, it doesn't matter what class it is, but it's definitely helpful. This list of no brainers can certainly be applied to any of your characters, no matter what level they are.

1.) If you're holding onto old epics, blues and green items that are level 70 or below that are Soulbound and are NOT being used currently on your toon... VENDOR them now! They're obsolete and taking up precious inventory space. You won't be needing them anymore, so you might as well hock them for some gold. Keep your Tier sets and other items of sentimental value if you must. I've still got my Tier 1 Felheart set on my Warlock, I'll never get rid of it.

2.) Its helpful if you have professions. Any profession will do, but let's talk about gathering professions. First, take a look on your local Auction House and look up all the raw materials that coincide with your gathering profession be it Mining, Jewelcrafting, Leatherworking, Herbalism or Enchanting (Disenchanting). Chances are good that you'll find something that is selling for a decent amount of gold that you can harvest or "FARM" easily. Go do it. Get a few stacks and AH them bad boys right away! Time is crucial now that Wrath of the Lich King is in effect.

3.) You're going to want to take advantage of the fact that the new character class Death Knight starts off at level 55. That means they should be looking for high-end Pre-Burning Crusade greens, blues and possibly some epics at reasonable prices if they can get them. Here's your chance to undercut others with the same idea or price gouge til your heart is content! Got a Hand of Edward the Odd laying around? PERFECT! =) Now's the time to get rid of that thing.

4.) Turn ins... Here's a helpful tidbit of info. If you make a fresh Death Knight, make sure you've got 30 of each of the following:
- Core Elements
- Crypt Fiend Parts
- Savage Fronds
- Dark Iron Scraps
- Bone Fragments
Now go my Death Knight! Go straight to Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands and turn them all in and <> 2 whole levels just like that!

5.) More Turn ins... This might be a little time consuming or it just might be a little costly if you want to level immediately, but don't forget, this article is about how to MAKE money, not SPEND it, but here's my advice...
Grab the following:
- 300 Linen Cloth
- 300 Wool Cloth
- 300 Silk Cloth
- 300 Mageweave Cloth (agonizing I know)
- 300 Runecloth

Go to each of your factions' main cities to turn in the various cloth for rep, a little cash kickback reward and a HUGE amount of Experience! That should easily take you up another level. Just think, you managed to gain 3 whole levels by now without killing a single MOB if you had cloth in reserve! Or, at the very least, you've been gaining XP while killing MOBS that Con green or yellow to you. You're best bet to go for Runecloth would be out in Silithis and slay Twilight Humanoids like crazy! Bring plenty of Food and Water too, you'll be there awhile. In relative peace too I might add. Don't worry about going to the Outlands yet, there's plenty of time for that later.

6.) Okay, I side-tracked you on Death Knights, let's get back to taking advantage of all the other Auction House rats and gamers with your expert knowledge of merchandising.

What I recommend next is this... Do NOT stand around in major cities spamming stuff like this:

[Deathspammer]says: WTS [Krol Blade] 200g pst!

Don't waste your precious time standing there in an attempt to make a quick sale. Just put it on the Auction House. "Time is money, friend." I can't stress it enough that you are wasting time spamming. Okay, so it's a big NO NO in my book and now it should be in yours. AH it and take the Flightpath to someplace productive ASAP! And don't read or reply to any of the idiotic comments, links and posts others are leaving behind in the trade channels either. You're here to make money so focus.

7.) A true mercenary offers their services. By this I mean be truly ruthless. If somebody needs help with a quest or wants to run an instance and they've been begging for puggers for awhile, then sure, by all means, offer your services, but don't offer them cheap. Tell them you'll be happy to tank, heal, CC or dps for them (make sure you can back up your own claims so that you don't look like a complete incompetent moron) and charge them for your services. What's your time worth to you? 50g for a Classic instance run? 75g for an Outlands instance? 100g for a Heroic instance? Or do you want to maybe set a price per hour of services rendered?... Be creative, but once you start becoming a sell-sword, be sure to stick to your prices. The best way to do business if you're selling yourself is to make certain you aren't compromising your own negotiations by either being soft and lowering your price to complainers or increasing them because of a player you don't particularly like. It's all business, treat everyone equally. So what if they don't like your price. So long as you aren't being ridiculous with pricing, they can lump it or leave it, it shouldn't make a difference to you.

NOTE: Be advised that you should be sure to state your terms prior to grouping. Be courteous and straight-forward, and act professional while instancing. Don't dawdle or waste people's time by going AFK, they hired you, do your job. And above all, smile and be friendly! Make their experience a pleasant one, because if they feel you were worth the money, they'll recommend you to others, and likely repeat the business! And then you're really rolling in the money!

8.) Here's a tip for Mages. You're a conduit for Teleporting others to far away lands, making traveling a breeze. Many players cannot do that as easily as you can. If you happen to see someone in your vicinity that needs a port, chances are they're willing to pay. Do it! It only takes a few moments and even if they pay you just 1 gold, it's nearly 10 times the amount it cost you for components to open the portal! Pure profit!

9.) Let's say you've got other professions that aren't of the "gathering" nature... Blacksmithing, Engineering, Leatherworking, etc. More often than not, you can make some pretty mundane stuff that is easy to get mats together and make. Quite often other players that don't have your profession need an item you're able to make. Take a good long look at what items those might be and gain the foresight to what items you can craft that others will want. Make a whole bunch and keep them in stock. Don't put them on the Auction House. Hold onto them in your bank or keep a spare on your toon. When you just so happen to hear someone is looking for one, chances are either they are too lazy to look for one on the Auction House, or there just isn't one on there to purchase. Here's where you can corner the market and make a fast profit. As a general rule, when placing value to an item, factor in the cost of materials and charge 2 to 3 times that amount, unless you know the product is worth far more than the individual items, then use your best judgment and haggle the price with the potential buyer.

10.) The final piece of advice I'll give here is to become an Auction House rat all on your own. Learn the value of individual items or rares or even pets! Now that achievement points require players to collect pets and other various things, take note of this and know where to find special pets and items to stock the Auction House with. You'd be surprised how much you can get for other people's laziness. Also note undercutters. Find items that are priced extremely low and buy it. Look for the bargains and don't be afraid to hold onto items for periods of time. If you watch the prices fluctuate on certain items, you will know when to put up yours for sale and fetch a far better price for it!
