What's a Hokie? - The Answer, Straight from Virginia Tech

How did Virginia Tech get the nickname "hokie" for its sports teams? Here is the official explanation from the Virginia Tech Web site, along with the histories of other Virginia Tech traditions such as the HokieBird, the Hokie Stone, and the Gobbler. You'll also find a recording of the Virginia Tech fight song, "Tech Triumph."
