Webster's dictionary defines abuse as misuse, mistreat, attack with words, improper use, or course and insulting speech.
Based on this definition, abuse is more prevalent than we would like to admit. Abuse can take many forms - child abuse, sibling abuse, animal abuse, elder abuse, rape, domestic violence, drug abuse, human rights abuse, Internet abuse - to name a few.
As a survivor of abuse and the author of a soon to be released book on my personal experiences, I created this blog to generate more awareness about abuse. I am not a therapist or mental health professional. The opinions I offer on this site are based on my own life experiences. They are not intended to take the place of advice from a health, legal or other professional whose expertise you might seek.
