When You Buy Something that Has a Colored Tag on It, Remember: Stores' Computers Are Still Run by 'Humans'

I went to my nearby FAMILY DOLLAR (find yours through the connection below), and saw a tube of toothpaste with an orange tag glued on that said the toothpaste was on 'clearance.' I didn't need any toothpaste at the time, but 'ya` never know!' (lol), so I picked it up and put it in with the rest of the stuff I was about to buy.

I took it over to the counter, where the attendant scanned all the bar-codes and I paid for the stuff ... but it was a dollar more than I had expected, so–after I paid the money–I looked at the receipt and, sure-enough, the computer had charged me two dollars for the one-dollar clearance-toothpaste.

So now I know to remember that 'the computer' doesn't put things on clearance!

Was that Prestone toothpaste, I wonder...

Maybe that toothpaste was marked 'clearance' because the store found out it was from that Chinese batch with that 'special' ingredient (antifreeze makins') and they wanted to clear it off their premises as quickly as possible. If that's the case, that stuff may not be so good for brushing teeth. But if your car won't start on a cold day, you could probably get it running by squeezing some of that special toothpaste on the distributor cap...
