Where Did You Leave It?
Where Did You Leave It?
I replied, “But my work seems so useless! I have spent my strength for nothing and to no purpose. Yet I leave it all in the Lord’s hand; I will trust God for my reward.” - Isaiah 49:4 (NLT).
Last night, all of a sudden, I heard thunder, then I saw the flashes of lightening.
A few minutes afterward, the downpour of rain flooded the sidewalks, yards and streets. The first storm of the summer had arrived with a vengeance.
The lights kept going on and off several times before they went off completely .
In July, with the heat as hot as it is in Phoenix, I hated the thought of spending a whole night without fans or air conditioning. I am spoiled that way.
In the middle of the two hour wait for them to come back on, I heard God speak to my spirit, "What can you do about the lights? Can you climb the pole and fix them yourself?"
Of course not.
Then He said something to the effect of, "You cannot fix the other problems in your life either. All you can do is rest."
I always want to be doing something about my problems because that is what I have been taught to do.
Our works, though, are usually useless and tire us out in the process.
It is more effective to leave the problems in God's hands and rest in His promises that He will take care of us and never let us be moved.
