Where to find financial assistance in todays down economy

In todays down economy many people are suffering with no where to turn due to job loses. This is putting tremendous stress on people financially. For those in true need that dont have anywhere to turn for help and are truly trying to help themselves but are unaware of  the resources, there is places to turn for assistance. Here is a guide to places that may be able to assist you depending on the funding they have and your situation.

IN NEED OF A VEHICLE- www.freechairitycars.org and www.cars4christmas.com.

QUALIFICATION FOR GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS- www.govbenefits.gov  and www.benefitscheckup.org.

HELP WITH MEDICATION- www.freemedicineprogram.org and www.scbn.org

HELP FOR CHRISTMAS- See if you have a "Toys for Tots" in your area or check  www.angeltree.info. It is also possible the salvation army in your area may have help for christmas as well.

CLOTHING - Try Craigslist or sign up in your area for Freecycle. Many times people give clothing  away free on these sites.

HELP FOR RENT- The first thing to do is check with HUD as well as Ministries and Non-Profit organizations in your area.

SEEKING WORK- Your local newspapers, employment office, job searches and Craigslist. Never give up on this as frustrating as it may be. There is many people out there but there is also many job hunting outlets, Be creative.

PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE SITES- www.modestneeds.org and www.aidpage.com.

GOING BACK TO SCHOOL- Earn your degree. Apply for pell grants and financial aid. Pell grants do not have to be paid back.

Assistance should always be sought in desperate times but not used as a comfort zone. While getting assistance always continue to better yourself and get out of the situation you are in. Much to often people find it's easy to get into a comfort zone and forget about motivation and being independent again. These sites and information should be a step in the right direction to finding the help you need to get ahead and climb back up the ladder where you can be free of financial stress again in your life.
