In California, the weather is pretty suitable for surfing any time if you have a wet suit
It can be a bit cold in the winter but I see people surf all the time
Usually waves are high during the afternoon , around 2pm
A lot of people are there around that time
Wet suit will save you from the cold

Lifeguard
There are lifeguard on duty any time from opening to about 8pm
They’re not there after that
I would recommend swimming when there are lifeguard there
The waves can be tough on you
They’re pretty strong and high at HB

Where to surf
I see a lot of surfing near the pier
I guess the waves are high there
They usually gather around there
It’s fun to see people walk on the pier too
The lifeguard is next to the pier, which can be a good thing
Crowd
It’s pretty safe here at HB
People are nice and friendly
A very upscale city, with wealthy people
Young people who loves the beach
A lot of professional show here too
