Where the Words Come From: Inspiration in one of it's Many Forms

Just where do writers get these ideas for their stories? Sometimes these ideas come from the heart, other times they are soulful, from the spirit. The most poignant of thoughts come from that deep well of emotion that resides in each and every one of us. It is only a matter of finding a way to tap it at the source, or recognizing it when it bubbles to the surface.
Whether it is positive or negative, when it comes from our true feelings, it is surely bound to touch another soul. Even the most bitter rage, blissful joy or heartwrenching sorrow, when thought out and written in an eloquent manner, will evoke a heartfelt response from the most distant reader.
There are times when little thought to grammer or form goes in; just raw emotion. In this case, only a basic primal response will be garnered from the reader, not much thought, just a gut reaction.
If we can translate these basal emotions from the deepest, darkest corners of of our souls, into a story, then we can give our readers much more to grasp and hold onto - give them something to think about and remember. If they don't remember the story itself, they will remember the feeling.
Feelings are often be the driving force behind a great story and are most times the difference between a so-so read or a diversion that the reader just cannot put down. The most memorable poetry is raw with emotion. That, along with a creative imagination are two of the many necessary ingredients to a terrific read.
Inspiration comes in many forms, from a world of sources but, in order to be inspired we must first feel.

"deepness"

Thank you, I had a really bad week, bad news coming at me from every direction. I am normally a very upbeat person (annoyingly so) and have found writing to be the best outlet (aside from my spouse) to help me get through without completely losing it. I'm glad the negativity isn't jumping through onto the page.

Very deep!

This is a very good article and I couldn't agree more! I have found my greatest inspiration and best articles come from my being able to tap into my very soul and let the words flow through my hands and onto the screen. When I am done writing the article and go back and read it, sometimes I am amazed at how well it turned out and how deep it is. Part of my philosophy is that each of us here has a great writer inside. The goal is finding a way to let that writer out to express all that is good and beautiful in our souls. DO YOU HAVE THE WRITE STUFF?
