Which Type Of Affiliate Program Is Right For You?

There are several different types of affiliate programs. The typical affiliate program pays you a one-time commission when a sale is completed. The commissions can vary anywhere from 30% to 75% of the sale price. Most people participate in this type of affiliate program.

Another affiliate program that many people ignore is the residual affiliate program. Residual programs typically pay a much lower commission rate. Commissions range between 5% and 15% of the sale price. Because of the lower payouts, they are less popular. However, if you are going to be in business for the long haul, residual programs may be more profitable in the long run.

Residual affiliate programs are most common for products that involve a monthly payment, so you will be paid each month. And your commission will continue to accrue for as long as your customer continues to make his monthly payments.

Let’s consider an example using two autoresponder companies. ABC Company pays a one time upfront commission of fifty dollars for each sale. In that case, you receive one payment of fifty dollars.

XYZ Company uses a residual affiliate system that pays 15%. If they charge your customer twenty dollars each month, you will receive three dollars each month for as long as the customer continues to make payments. If the customer remains with XYZ for 16 months, you will have netted forty-eight dollars. At that point, you are making the same amount of money that you would have made by using ABC Companies commission structure. But, you will continue to be paid for the life of the customer. This could be five years or more. In that case, you would make much more money with the residual affiliate program.

I like to use some of each type of affiliate program. To be honest, if you just have one customer in a residual program, it’s not worthwhile. But if you can get 20 or 50, it starts to add up to some very nice money. So if you are going to be recommending a program and can sign up a large number of people, the residual affiliate program may be a great deal for you.

Pyramid Schemes

Pyramid Schemes are like gambling. If you do want to try, just know that they all revolve around someone in the pyramid losing money, so If you want to take a chance or you can justify scamming someone to make money, well, live and learn, but what goes around, comes around! "Make Money" - Well, I've had to put away those green crayons because everyone looked at me funny when I tried to spend the money I was making (even after I switched from lime green to a darker green), but Xomba actually works. (except for those few folks I've seen complaining online because they wrote three posts and made no money or got banned for some reason). Back when I was picking beans in Guatemala, we used to make fresh coffee, right off the trees I mean. That was good...

Not all programs are scam.

Not all programs are scam. All the pyramid schemes and network marketing schemes require time and effort to build. I have a buddy of mine who is very successful in doing the Young Living essential distributor. There are some schemes which are just patzi schemes out there you have to take your time to figure out which one is right for you and not take base decision based on the sales pitch given by the guys.... ↑ Grab this Headline Animator

Promotion is the key

I think in order to earn from affiliate marketing you have to have effective promotion. That is why it's difficult to have earnings without good promotion. But eventually once you got a good site and good promotional set up there is always the possibility of earning. I have not earned much on affiliate marketing but have been earning daily with forum posting. You may visit my site for easy earning forums. http://workathome-jpso.blogspot.com

Scams

Your probably right, scammers abound on the web and in that there is no way to track whether you are being paid correctly, afilliate programs can rip you off without you even knowing it. What gave me more confidence here is that Google is handling the pay-out rather than an unknown person in the background.

Scammy

Personally, I think 99% of them are scams. Of course I believe if it says "Make Money" I think it is fake. (Funny how I own Xomba and you can make money here, eh?) Just don't get caught up in a pyramid scheme. And NEVER NEVER NEVER pay money to make money.

Not So Lucky

You guys must be luckier than I am, I have never really found one that works out for me. They all claim to pay big bucks but I have never received more than a few dollars.
