Who Wants French Toast?
Who Wants French Toast?
Well they say it's the most important meal of the day, so why not make it a good one? Not many will pass up a delicious plate of french toast and here's a recipe to help support that theory:
Here's what you'll need:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract
6 large eggs
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
12(1/2-in.) slices of sourdough (white or wheat) bread
3 Tbsp. butter
Powdered sugar, strawberries (or berries of your choosing),and maple syrup
First, whisk cream, vanilla, cinnamon, salt and eggs in a bowl. Pour half into a 13" x 9" baking dish. Place 6 slices of bread into the mix and let sit 7 minutes on each side or until the bread absorbs the mixture.
Next, melt half of butter on medium heat in a 12-in. skillet. Add soaked bread and cook 7-10 min. until golden on both sides. Soak remaining bread in remaining mixture and repeat the process. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with berries and syrup. Serves 4-8 (depending on appetite!)
Enjoy your breakfast and the rest of your day!!
