Who's on top of the NBA
posted November 28, 2006 - 8:20pmMy Top 15 NBA Rankings, so far...
1) Dallas Mavericks (10 – 4), Well after losing their first four, ten straight wins is worth a little recognition isn’t it? Obviously everyone’s pre-season picks are still on track after a shaky start.
2) Utah Jazz (12-3), Who’d predict that they†d have the best record in the league without Kirilenko on the court. Impressively 5–0 with him on the sidelines. They couldn’t take the top spot after losing two straight though…
3) San Antonio (11-4), They lost to the Warriors last night, but so have the Mavericks. Man this sucks I hate putting two Texas teams in the top five. I hope it doesn’t stay that way for too long!
4) Phoenix Suns (7-6) Although they have the worst record in my top five they have won 6 of their last 7, and Amare is only going to get healthier (they hope)…
5) Detroit Pistons (9-5), Not to sure on this one, but you’ve got to give some love to atleast one Eastern Conference team. Plus they’ve won 6 in a row, which is a rarity for any of the Easten Confrence teams…
6) Houston Rockets (9-4), Wow another Texas team I must have not taken my pills today. I think Yao and Mcgrady can win 2/3 of the teams’ games over the season.
7) Orlando Magic (11-4), Surprise! Surprise! Orlando is returning to glory after letting players like Francis, Shaq, and Mcgrady go, maybe Howard can stay for awhile and get them somewhere in the playoffs!
8) Los Angeles Lakers (9-4), I hate to admit it but these guys are good. I never thought I’d call Kwame a player, but he looks good so far…
9) Cleveland Cavaliers (9-5), You can’t put a team with Lebron too far down. They haven’t looked great, but on the other hand did they really look that good last year?
10) Golden State Warriors (9-6), Baron’s injury has to worry them, but what else is new with him. It’s good to see Don Nelson’s back coaching a team with low expectations for a lowered stress level.
12) Denver Nuggets (8-6), Poor Kenyon, I’ve always been a part of the fan club. They’ve actually been doing better without him 8–2, since the injury…
11) New Orleans/ Oklahoma City Hornets (8-6), If Peja can get back to his old form that he had in Sacramento, they’d look a lot better. I think they should move to Oklahoma permanently, did you see how many more fans were at the games compared to New Orleans!?!
13) Los Angeles Clippers (6-6), They can’t be as bad as their record. The Franchise was just turning it around! I hope they do or else I won’t be watching much basketball this year, because the only other option in LA is the Lakers…
14) Sacramento Kings (7-5), Kevin Martin is the real deal. He flashed it last year, but this year he’s using all his skills. The injury bug hit them, but Sacramento’s used to that every year…
15) Miami Heat (6-8), You have to put the defending champs on the list whether you like it or not. Hopefully they don’t have a Steelers type season…
30) New York Knicks (5-10), Maybe the worst franchise ever constructed. Isiah, you must be kicking yourself for not investing in the Bobcats years back. Don’t count them out though somehow that division could be the worst ever assembled as the Knicks are only one game back from first…
